High Contrast with Color

Using a color from the original image

I chose this color because it seemed to create a natural, yet interesting feeling to the image. There still appears to be an opposition within the image, yet it feels more whole since the color is what binds the two sides together.

Sadness

I did some research, and there seems to be an almost universal sad or relaxed feeling associated with the color blue. Since my photo portrayed a relaxed an slightly sad puppy, I thought a dark blue would be the ideal color to convey this mood. I divided it the way I did in order to create an abstract sort of rain cloud.

Joy

As an opposition to the sad relaxed feeling, I chose a light yellow to create a sense of carefree joy. I used more yellow than blue in comparison to the last photo to try to get rid of the color black, which seems to oppose the joyous feeling I am trying to convey. I also used it to symbolize a sort of light piercing through the darkness of the image.
